Signing Ceremony for Japan's Grant Aid Project for Kenya through UN-Habitat

On 12 January 2026, Ambassador Mr. MATSUURA Hiroshi signed and exchanged notes for the Japan's Grant Aid Project for Kenya through UN-Habitat, “The Project for Water Supply Facilities for Refugees and their Host Communities in Turkana County,” with Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of UN-Habitat.
 
Through this project, UN-Habitat will strengthen systems for improving and maintaining water supply facilities, including renovating water storage tanks and installing water supply pumps in Kakuma Refugee Camp, Kalobeyei Settlement, Kakuma Town and Lodwar in Turkana County, Kenya. The Government of Japan has funded 663 million Japanese Yen to this project.
