Signing ceremony for Japan's Grant Aid Project for Syria through UN-Habitat

On 12 August 2025, Ambassador Mr. MATSUURA Hiroshi signed and exchanged notes for the Japan's Grant Aid Project for Syria through UN-Habitat, “Improvement of the Living Conditions in the Informal Settlements for Promoting Return”, with Ms. Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director, UN-Habitat. They exchanged the views on the importance of improving the living conditions of people in vulnerable situations.
Through this project, UN-Habitat aims to repair essential social infrastructure in informal settlements in Aleppo and Homs in Syria. The Government of Japan has funded 813 million Japanese Yen to this project
