UN-Habitat Project Kick-Off Ceremony: Japan Supplementary Budget 2025-2026

On 23 April, H.E. Mr. MATSUURA, Permanent Representative of Japan, attended the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) Kick-Off Ceremony for the projects funded by the Japan Supplementary Budget 2025-2026 which was held at the United Nations Office in Nairobi. The Government of Japan will support nine projects through this supplementary budget (approximately 7.7 million US dollars in total) aimed at improving the living conditions of the urban or rural communities in 11 countries. All of these projects are consistent with “human security,” Japan’s guiding principle for development.
In addition to UN-Habitat staff members involved in the projects, representatives from the embassies of the recipient countries also participated in the ceremony, sharing their commitment to the successful implementation of the projects.
