UNEP Project Kick-Off Ceremony: Japan Supplementary Budget 2025-2026

On 19 March, H.E. Mr. MATSUURA, Permanent Representative of Japan, attended the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Kick-Off Ceremony for the projects funded by the Japan Supplementary Budget 2025-2026 which was held at the United Nations Office in Nairobi. The Government of Japan will support nine projects through this supplementary budget (approximately 4.2 million US dollars in total) aimed at environmental recovery in Ukraine and plastic pollution countermeasures in developing countries.
In addition to UNEP staff members involved in the projects, representatives from the embassies of the recipient countries also participated in the ceremony, sharing their commitment to the successful implementation of the projects.
